Peer Support Specialists have their own story of behavioral health recovery and utilize their lived experience to help the people they serve and promote recovery-oriented environments. A Peer Support Specialist works with individuals during their recovery journey, sharing skills, coaching, and providing support.

SB&H PSST program is a 64 hour AHCCCS approved Peer Support Specialist training that provides the certification that is needed to become a Peer Support Specialist.

In this training, participants will learn about the role of the peer support worker which includes engaging in a wide variety of activities, including advocacy, linkage to resources, sharing of experience, community and relationship building, group facilitation, skill building, mentoring, goal setting, and more.
